FRIDAY!

  • last day of camp
  • has not stopped raining
  • ran out of money trying to buy food for camp this morning
  • tipped sideways in the peace corps truck
  • ..then got stuck in the mud for an hour, called for another pc truck, which also got stuck in the mud
  • spent 20 minutes at camp
  • got a cool patagonia shirt 
  • home to say goodbye to a friend who returns to America by cruise ship 
  • AZIZ IS BACK! till October.

Camp is half over, only 2 more days of:

  • 8am market runs
  • frantic phone calls to the owner of the campement
  • arguing prices with moto drivers
  • assisting volunteers in and out of Sokone
  • dodging rainstorms 
  • buying bus passes
  • booking hotel rooms
  • walking in and out of Simms to print documents and photos
  • 20 something volunteers invading Sokone

Tomorrow is cookie snack, cere dinner, a saabar drum group, and hopefully no rain.

Scorpio:

You aren’t in it for the money — or the glory or whatever else might pay off for you. That’s not to say you can’t profit, just that your motivations are much closer to purity.
